Austin Gorski is a director, editor, and screenwriter living in New Orleans, Louisiana. Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Austin has years of experience in the film industry - alongside directing, editing and writing, Austin has also worked in the industry as a 1st assistant director, editor, on-set DIT, script supervisor, and as a producer.

Over the years, Austin has worked on-set with Hollywood figures such as Hugh Jackman, Jamie Foxx, Tommy Lee Jones, Ben Affleck, Kevin Smith, and Dillon McDermott. After graduating from Ringling College of Art & Design with a Undergraduate Degree in Digital Filmmaking, Austin was hired to work alongside the Bridges Family as a co-producer and as the 1st Assistant Director on their feature film “Acting: The First Six Lessons”. The film, which stars Beau and Emily Bridges, is now available to rent and purchase.

For his own narrative work, Austin won the “Gold Jurors Award” at the 2019 Best of Ringling Ceremony for his thesis film, ‘Reconcile’. The film was also in competition at the Sarasota Film Festival and Orlando Film Festival, where it was nominated for Best Student Film..

Now living in New Orleans, Austin has been working as a freelance filmmaker in multiple capacities. He recently worked as a Script Supervisor on a short comedy “CTP” directed by Lorraine Caffery, was the 1st Assistant Director on two Sum Sun music videos - “U-Phoria” and “Blame It On The Rain”, the latter of which he also edited. Austin has also edited music videos for Shade Store and Kids That Fly.

Austin recently finished editing the feature-length anthology film, “Blades of Grass”, which had its world premiere in November 2024 (photo below).

Austin is looking to get his own short and feature-length projects off the ground. Two such projects are the sports drama, “Deep Ends”, and the sci-fi horror film, “Relieve”, which he is actively pitching to investors.
